Tirta Gangga Park is built in the year of 1948 by the Karangasem King of Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. Before this park is found, there is big wellspring found in this area which the local society believe that this water come from the land is holy spring therefore they call this place is Embukan/ kelebutan means wellspring.

According to the local believe that this wellspring functioning as a bath place for the god and also used as drinking water for the local community from the nearest village.
G3    : Therefore this wellspring is sacrificed by local people and keeps the park naturally. The King of Karangasem has got an idea to improve this park into a good looking and nowadays, it becomes one of the famous tourist destinations in east part of Bali.
G2    : The name "Tirta Gangga" reminds about a sacred river in India, the river Gangga. In the middle of rice fields and surrounded by the hills. Tirta means blessed water and - as mentioned above - Gangga is taken from the name of the mother river Ganges in India.
G1    : OK, one can see that there is a pond on the right side that has decorative stones placed around the pond while another functions as a bridge. Statues of Gods and Goddesses majestically stand amidst the pristine cold water. This part is the Swah level. In this level, where beside those two decorative ponds, there is also a swimming pool where the locals or visitors can enjoy swimming in the cold spring.
G2    : The springs have a huge output of pure water. The water in Tirta Gangga is first led to a reservoir where it is divided in two parts. One third provides drinking water for the town Amlapura. The remainder goes into the upper swimming pool through an underground pipe. The overflow of water goes into the lower swimming pool, the other ponds and finally to the rice fields surrounding the Tirta Gangga Royal water garden.
